The 4th of July Celebration at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is returning this year. It is a presentation for the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Volunteer Fire Department.
The day will begin with a parade at 10:00 AM. This year’s Grand Marshall will be Richard Clark who was the 2015 Citizen of the Year. It will start at the fire station, travel east along Bougainvilla, head south on Pine, then west on El Mar, and finally north on Hibiscus to finish off back at the fire station. Applications to participate in the parade will be accepted until July 1.
After the parade, at 11:30 AM, the celebrations will continue with the Family Fun Day at El Prado Park. There will be plenty of activities for people of all ages, including a water slide and fire trucks to climb on. Food such as hot dogs and lemonade will also be available for purchase. The day will finish off with a fireworks display at 9:00 PM on the beach.
Spectators will likely show up to watch the parade from all over the area, including nearby Pompano Beach. Many of the participants in the parade will likely be carrying Banners they obtained from local printing companies.
