The North Miami Beach area boasts many examples of historical architecture, and those who are interested in learning more about them are invited to join in a walking tour that will showcase what makes some of its building designs unique.
The MiMo on the Beach walking tour will provide those who participate with an opportunity to learn about the North Shore National Registered District, with an emphasis on the MiMo (Miami Modern) style of construction and design. The activity has been planned and organized through the cooperative efforts of the North Beach Development Corporation and the Miami Design Preservation League.
The tour, which is approximately 90 minutes long, will introduce the MiMo style of building design and teach the walkers how to recognize the traits that make it different to other architectural styles. A variety of public and private buildings will be visited.
The group will gather at corner of Collins Avenue and 73rd Street, and the fee will start at $20 each. Those who are interested in participating are not required to register beforehand. Branded promotional Pens and Notebooks can be prepared by a printer to give to each person who participates in an event like this so they can make any notes they wish as the tour moves along.
The tour begins at 9:30 am next Saturday, October 7, and again on November 4. All ages are welcome to learn more about the local area they call home.
