A children's Independence Day celebration is to be held in North Miami this July.
The event will be a reading of Janet S. Wong's 'Apple Pie 4th of July'. The session will be hosted by Vanessa Joseph, who currently serves as a clerk of North Miami City. After the reading, children will have a fun DIY project, where they can create their own firework masks.
The reading is a part of an event series, where children have the opportunity to bond with their parents or guardians by doing art projects together. Additionally, the event seeks to help them develop motor and socialization skills, while fostering and engaging a love for reading. The series, called Sunday Stories, is open to all families in North Miami City.
This North Miami Beach-area event comes courtesy of the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. The organization was established in 1981. Its aim was to present contemporary art in a single gallery space. Since then, it has also incorporated being an educational facility as one of its tenets. It does this through its exhibitions and events, where it promotes the voices of underexplored and diverse artists and cultures.
The event is open to the public, and free to attend. Graphic design can offer new ideas for modern art pieces at events such as these.
The reading happens on Sunday, July 3 at the MoCA North Miami. It begins at 10:30 am and ends at 11:30 am.
