As part of their efforts to ensure that all residents are adequately prepared to meet the challenges posed by hurricane season, government officials at North Miami Beach will be hosting a hurricane expo next month.
The event will feature multiple components. First, there will be an array of public safety, government, and non-profit organizations speaking about the importance of hurricane preparedness and how each resident and business can prepare for this inevitable weather event. The panel will be moderated by Erik Salna, Associate Director of Education and Outreach at the Extreme Events Institute of Florida International University.
Other events at the expo include instructions on how to put together evacuation plans, educational displays, giveaways and prizes, emergency information, and the distribution of other hurricane preparedness tips. Attendees will have a chance to meet with experts who can help them ready for a hurricane, and individuals who attend are encouraged to pick up Business Cards and Promotional Products from businesses that can assist them with these endeavors.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 8, and runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at North Miami Beach City Hall, 17011 NE 19th Street. Pre-registration is not required, and there is no charge to attend the event. The event listing on the city’s website includes a QR code for registration.
