North Miami Beach invited to walk for heart health

Heart disease is a major health concern for many women, and an event is on the Calendars for North Miami Beach that will give the public a chance to learn more about what they can do to minimize their risk.

The function, which has been planned as a fun occasion, will include both an awareness-raising walk and a health fair. The walkers will follow a 2.6 mile route that will take them around Snake Creek Canal, and there will be lot of other activities that have been organized for the day.

The health fair will include booths and other displays from an assortment of vendors and not-for-profit groups that work in the field of heart health. Entertainers will be on hand, and a farmers’ market is also on the agenda. Both the young and the young at heart can try their hand at the games that will be set up, and there will be raffles draws and other giveaways as well.

Food service providers will be on site for anyone who would like a bite to eat, and the whole function is being brought to the community courtesy of the Commission on the Status of Women and The City of North Miami Beach.

February 24 has been chosen as the date for this event that will help shine a light on heart health. It will be taking place in the Patricia A. Mishcon Athletic Field.
