Music festival to return to North Miami Beach area

The North Miami Music Festival, also known as the NoMi, will return for another edition this February.

The 2022 NoMi Festival, the 7th edition of the annual event, will be headlined by Regina Belle, a veteran singer-songwriter best known for performing on duets such as “A Whole New World”, featured in the Disney classic Aladdin. R&B artist Montell Jordan and long-running New York rapper Chubb Rock will help to add a 1990s feel to the festival. Other confirmed musicians include singer-songwriter Teenear, R&B trio Next, and Grammy-nominated reggae singer Melky Jean.

The festival is the biggest annual event hosted by the North Miami Chamber of Commerce, and typically draws in thousands of visitors from nearby areas like North Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

In addition to the performers, there will be a number of events surrounding the NoMi. The NoMi Honors will celebrate community and business leaders at a special dinner. There will also be a festival after party, called “The Rap Up,” providing visitors the chance to mingle with local DJs and party the night away. Music festivals such as this, typically promoted through tools like local radio advertising and poster printing, are often a popular way to see artists from previous eras.

The 2022 edition of the NoMi Music Festival will take place on February 26 at Cagni Park.
