Festival celebrates a popular tropical fruit

The 23rd annual Mango Festival is taking place this July in Miami-Dade.

This popular event will feature mango trees for sale, a fruit market, and cooking demonstrations. There will be workshops taking place, and lectures on topics such as Mangos in Jamaica and Pruning the Whole Landscape.

Guests can enjoy a Mango Morning Sampling on the Saturday in the Garden House, a mango auction, and family yoga sessions. There will be arts and crafts vendors also on hand to sell handmade items such as jewelry, clothing, and paintings.

The 16th annual International Mango Brunch, with food prepared by seven top chefs, will be held on Sunday. It is a fundraising event for the Tropical Fruit Program and the Fairchild Farm; tickets are $125 for the general public, or $100 for Fairchild members.

Organizers of the festival may decide to invest in services such as flyer printing, to advertise to communities in Miami-Dade County such as North Miami Beach.

The Mango Festival will be held at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden from July 11 to 12. Admission is $25 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $12 for children between the ages of 6 and 17. The Mango Morning Sampling will take place on July 11 from 9:30 AM until noon and the Mango Brunch will be held on July 12 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
