Comedy festival planned in North Miami Beach area

A long-running Miami-area comedy festival will be returning this January with a full line-up of nationally known stand-up comedians.

The Miami Comedy Festival will be headlined by Mike Epps, a veteran stand-up comedian who has also appeared in the Friday and Hangover movie series. Gary Owen will perform the comedy that earned him acclaim and success on shows like BET’s Comic View. Miami-born comic Marvin Dixon will return home for another performance, with past sets in the area drawing sell-out crowds. Other performers announced for the festival include Desi Banks, Dominique, Lavell Crawford, and Tony Rock.

Advertising material highlights the festival’s history and promises an exciting show:

“The all-star lineup will be sure to deliver side-busting, non-stop laughter for a memorable weekend of comedy.”

The Festival will run for two nights, with each show featuring multiple artists delivering tight sets of their best material. The show takes place in Hollywood, Florida and hopes to draw in comedy fans from nearby areas such as North Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale. It will use stadium-style seating with multiple levels of seats available. Festivals like this, as well as smaller comedy shows, typically use tools like poster printing and social media advertisement to raise awareness in the community.

The Miami Comedy Festival will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on January 14 and 15.
