Wilmington to introduce film festival
Wilmington is hosting the inaugural Wilmington International Film Festival this October.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will include live music, networking events for those in the film industry, and opportunities for local artists to display their work. The long weekend opens with a VIP Wine and Cheese Tasting event and a screening of Tribeca Film Festival winner Shelf Life on Thursday evening. Two pre-fest events are also scheduled, including an Art Means Business networking session and panel discussion for creatives and businesspeople. Attendees often exchange business cards at this type of networking event.
Those planning to attend can purchase a four-pack of tickets for $50, which includes admission to four films. All Access VIP Passes are $195 and include admission to all the festival films, as well as other events like the opening wine and cheese event, a meet-and-greet with actors and filmmakers, and the Sunday Awards Brunch.
Tickets can also be purchased for individual events on the festival website. Most films are $15, and the Sunday awards brunch is $35 per person. At brunch, awards for films and screenwriting and a scholarship for storytelling will be presented, and the menu will include eggs, bagels, and chicken and waffles. Details are available on the film festival website.
The inaugural Wilmington International Film Festival will run from Thursday, October 9 to Sunday, October 12.
