Blue Line Arts, 405 Vernon Street #100, will hold four workshops in January.
On January 9, from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm, the gallery will present “Life Stories for Content.” Ruth Chase will demonstrate how to get individuals to engage in art work. Some topics she will cover will be biographical portraiture, art in service, integrating storytelling and symbology, the interview process and sensitive subject matter responsibilities.
Two days later, women veterans are invited to attend “Creative Vision Boards for Women Veterans” from 11:30 am until 4:30 pm on January 11. The workshop will teach collage, mark making, and color play. It will also cover mixed media and composition. Gloria Rill will give a short discussion about the therapeutic benefits of art.
All veterans can attend the Clay Workshop for Veterans on January 25 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. This class will focus on basic clay techniques including composition, mark making and hand-built structures. Guests will create their own clay structures.
The two veteran classes will be free and all materials will be supplied.
Pat Abraham will hold a Watermedia Workshop on January 28 through 29 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on both days. The condensed two-day workshop is designed for intermediate and advanced acrylic and watercolor artists. Guests will be painting one or two paintings with acrylic and/or watercolor under Abraham’s instructions.
Guests that attend workshops like these often collect instructors’ Business Cards in case they want to contact them later.
