Roseville parents of children who ride bikes (or who will be soon) will want to attend the upcoming 21st Annual Roseville Bikefest.
Kids are also invited and are encouraged to bring their bikes and helmets. The event will be free and family-oriented.
The fest will be an opportunity for children to get their bicycle safety inspections. Parents will also no doubt want to have their children’s helmets inspected to insure proper fit. Kaiser Permanente’s Super Weevil—a fun loving bug who encourages children to wear bike-safety gear—will be on hand as well.
To help teach safety skills, obstacle courses will be available for beginner bikers and for those riders who have a little more experience. The fest will also provide entertainment and riding demonstrations, and local businesses will be giving away bike-related items to the children.
The program’s mascot Red E. Fox will also be putting in an appearance, offering tips for children on how and when to make 911 emergency phone calls. Highlighting the event will be two Grand Prize drawings, where two lucky children will win brand new bikes. The City of Roseville’s Communications office will be taking pictures during the event for use in future brochure and flyer printing.
The Bikefest will be held September 20, from 9:00 am till noon, at Cirby Elementary school, 814 Darling Way, Roseville.
