A race is coming up in Irvine that raises money for a cause, and gets people out to enjoy early spring at the same time.
For the 22nd year, the Reaching for the Cure event will be held in Irvine. There are a number of races taking place on that day, including a half-marathon, 5K, 10K, and a 1K Kids Run. The event has been named the “Best of Orange County Run/Race” and is appropriate for everyone, from seasoned runners, to those who want to train for upcoming races, to those who are just running or walking for fun.
As with all such events, the starting times vary depending on the race. The “Reaching for the Cure Half-Marathon” starts at 7:00 am, the “Orange Aluminum 5K Run” begins at 7:15 am, the “Seyfarth & Shaw 10K Run” has a start time of 7:45 am, the 5K “Cox Castle & Nicholson” run begins at 9:30 am, and the “1K Kids Fun Run” heads out at 11:00 am.
Reaching for the Cure raises funds to continue research into finding a cure for childhood cancers. Thus far, $129,600 has been raised out of a total goal of $300,000.
The races take place March 22 at Irvine Valley College, the seventh year the race has been held at this location. Banner printing can be used to provide fun decorations for the venue, and to mark the start and end points of races like this.
