The Yoga Teacher Academy in Dana Point will host a yin yoga lesson for anyone living in the city.
Yin yoga is a slower, more passive form of yoga that targets the body’s bones, connective tissue, and ligaments. The event is aimed at yoga practitioners and anyone looking to become yoga instructors, and will take place over two days.
Each day will last five hours with a one-hour break for participants to eat lunch. The first day will cover the history of yin, its purpose, and how yin yoga is to be practiced. The class will then transition into a 90-minute full-body yin yoga practice. The second day will explore other topics related to yin yoga, including information on postures, how to create a yin yoga class, yin theming, and chakra balance.
The class will be headed by Julianne, who works as an education provider for Yoga Alliance. Also, entrants who complete the class will receive education credits from Yoga Alliance.
Entrants who want documentation of their participation can sign up for a certificate. Printing services will be utilized to produce these certificates for participants.
The event will take place on January 16th and 17th, and each class will occur between 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Registration for the class costs $300, and an additional $50 is required for those who would like a certificate.
