Whale of a celebration planned next month

Dana Point will once again celebrate marine life in general, and whales in particular, with its Festival of Whales taking place during March.

As is only appropriate for the world’s biggest mammal, Dana Point will be throwing one of the West Coast’s biggest celebrations. Among the planned festivities will be a day immersed in Polynesian culture, including dance and music. A parade will feature a huge whale-shaped balloon, and there will also be a run and a car show.

Naturally, plenty of whale themed exhibits are planned as well. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for whale excursions to try and catch a glimpse of the festivals’ guests of honor. Those who miss out on the chance to spy a whale in person can make do with whale inspired art, whale song tapes, and informative lectures.

A significant part of the celebration focuses on conservation and protecting the environment, specifically our marine habitats. For this reason, festival organizers are making a concerted effort to make the Festival of the Whales ‘Clean and Green’.

While environmental groups and printing companies might not seem like natural allies, reusable promotional Drinkware obtainable from a printing company enables the promotion, as well as the practice of saving the planet.

This year marks the 44th year for Dana Point’s Festival of the Whales and the popular celebration covers two weekends, which this year fall on March 7-8 and March 14-15.
