Official opening of Coastal Kitchen in Lantern District

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the Coastal Kitchen on June 13 with city officials and the public in attendance to celebrate the official opening.

The owners of Coastal Kitchen, Christina and Mike Grant renovated what was originally a Dana Point gas station that opened in 1924 and the café next to it. According to Christina Grant the site of the café is now the bar area. The refurbishing was done with an eye to maintaining the atmosphere of the original building while also having a more modern feel.

New restaurants commonly receive a flurry of attention, especially if a banner is hung to draw the attention of passersby. Restaurants will typically have regular Print needs, for Menus and promotions, such as Mother’s Day or Christmas offers.

Discussing their new enterprise, the Grants said their aptly named Coastal Kitchen features hardwood floors, sliding doors with a view of the Pacific Coast Highway and a cuisine to match the restaurant's nautical theme.

The restaurant serves everything from salads, to sandwiches, to steak and rotisserie chicken as well as plentiful appetizer choices. Mike Grant recommends the pork belly bits, his favorite, along with the fava bean dip. There are, he assures, menu items in a range of prices all of which are freshly made.
