The Wyland Foundation will continue its "Whale and Dolphin Adventure Art" classes in April. The foundation was founded by the marine muralist Robert Wyland, and provides art events while supporting conservation efforts.
The lesson is aimed at children aged 3 to 12, and Wyland himself heads the class. Participants will board a sea vessel at the Dana Point harbor, and Wyland will give his art lesson through a video feed. The children can then attempt their drawings of whales and dolphins. After the lesson, participants can join a two-hour whale and dolphin watching tour. There will be adult supervision throughout the trip to ensure the children's safety.
After the event, participants can submit their art to Wyland for a chance to win prizes. There will be $20,000 in cash and prizes rewarded, with the grand prize being a framed and signed artwork from Wyland himself. Free Promotional Products will also be gifted to each participant.
The lessons will happen each Saturday throughout April. Each class will start at 9:00 AM and will last around 45 minutes. The marine tour will begin shortly after, at 10:00 AM, and will end around noon. Registration for the class is $10, and the tour after it is offered free of charge. Each lesson is limited to 10 students for social distancing reasons.
