The Ocean Institute in Dana Point will begin its summer camp in a few weeks, continuing until mid-August.
Each camp will allow only 10 students per group. The programs have crafts, science experiments, learning about ocean life, storytelling, outdoor activities, and field trips.
Sea Squirts for kids ages five to six will meet from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon, where kids learn about ocean creatures, make crafts, listen to stories, and go on field trips. Neptune’s Camp for six-to-seven -year-olds runs 9:30 am – 3:30 pm, and teaches about ecosystems and scientific tools, including taking a cruise to find marine animals. Both these camps run Monday to Friday from July 6 to August 14.
Buccaneer Adventure Camp for children seven to eight years old runs July 13 to August 7. Students learn to row, handle sails, and discover how to be a pirate. Ocean Discovery for children eight to nine years runs July 6 – August 14. Children will perform science experiments, take a boat trip to whale watch, and learn to care for the aquariums.
Ship Wreck Hunters for children nine to ten years old runs July 13 to August 7. This group explores shipwrecks, builds a ship, learns navigation, and tries steering. Coastal Explorers is for those aged ten to twelve, who can learn to fish, kayak, and explore marine life. The camp runs from July 6- August 14.
Engineer Wanted for kids in grades 7-12 will meet for one week during July 6 to 10. Kids will learn coding, design, and robotics and participate in field trips. Printers design Promotional Products for programs like this.
