The Ocean Institute in Dana Point received an award or donations from local insurance companies for their programs. The award came from the Make More Happen Awards.
This donation came from Robert E. Harris Insurance Agency along with the Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance companies. It will be used to teach classes about ocean science, marine life, and history to children.
The Ocean Institute provides students with the opportunity to learn about the ocean science and history. This grant will be used to help disadvantaged students gain access by covering program fees and transportation costs.
The Ocean Institute has teen programs for local teens that has special classes called Girls in the Ocean. It teaches girls about famous women scientists. The program for middle and high school girls has visits by well-known women scientists in oceanography and marine science.
Stoke on Science teaches teen boys and girls about careers in ocean science with hands on workshops, discussions, and seminars. They have family beach clean ups and spring and summer camps for children.
Summer Camp will run this year from June 22 – August 14. Registration in now open for children ages 5-17year olds. Classes run weekly.
The Ocean Institute is running free online classes for children currently. It is located at 24200 Dana Point Harbor Drive. Donations are always accepted for its fundraising campaign. Print shops design and provide banner printing for fundraising campaigns and events like this.
