Bistro Provincia recently had its grand opening in Dana Point. Replacing the closed Wine Bistro & Whiskey Bar, the restaurant offers Latin, Asian, Italian, Mexican, and French cuisine.
The restaurant is owned by Manny Diaz and his wife Veronica. They named the restaurant to reflect Manny’s heritage. He came from a province of Durango Mexico called Colonia Minerva.
Manny has worked in bistro style restaurants since he was 16. He started as dishwasher in restaurant chains and eventually became executive chef. Eventually, he opened his own restaurant.
The restaurant serves fusion cuisine from all over the world, using hormone free meats and organic produce. The full-service bar serves cocktails, wine, and beer.
It has a rustic stone full-service bar with wooden bar stools, wood tables and chairs, with a casual upscale atmosphere. The prix-fixe menu includes a warm spinach salad, seafood risotto, brandy filet mignon, and crème brûlée.
Some of the appetizers served are chicken curry empanadas, shrimp chile relleno, steamed black mussels, and escargot.
The chef specials include a 10-ounce Kobe beef burger, braised short ribs, Japanese rib eye, and chateaubriand filet mignon.
Dana Point has Print shops with graphic design department that design Menus, Pens, and gift cards for restaurants like Bistro Provincia, which is located at 34901 La Plaza and plans to have monthly wine and food pairings.
