Marine Corps to hold get-together near Dana Point

The South Coast Detachment of the Marine Corps League (MCL) will soon be holding its annual BBQ Extravaganza at Camp Pendleton-San Onofre Beach, just a few miles from Dana Point.

The BBQ Extravaganza offers a chance for Marines and their families to enjoy the company of some of their extensive extended family, the United States Marine Corp, while chowing down on food.

The event is free to MCL members and only $15 for non-members. The menu includes ¼ hot dogs, ½ hamburgers, traditional sides, and condiments, as well as appetizers, desserts, and beverages. There will also be an enticing selection of items being raffled off and sold at silent auction.

Events such as this one that are open only to those meeting specific criteria are promoted differently than those open to the public. Targeted advertising with the help of a Print company can ensure that the word gets out to the appropriate individuals.

Upholding the belief that being a Marine never ends, the Marine Corps League seeks to render assistance to and promote camaraderie among all Marines, both those on active duty and those on honorable discharge, as well as their widows and orphans. MCL Detachment-022 is nearly 100 members strong and was chartered in 1974.

The BBQ Extravaganza takes place from noon to 3:30 pm on this Sunday, August 16. Those interested in attending, or in sponsoring Marines and their families, need to make their reservations and payments in advance.
