Dana Point Harbor will soon host its Festival of Whales for anyone living in Orange County.
The harbor holds the festival annually, and this year will be its 50th anniversary. Guests can expect to partake in activities like whale watching and other festivities. Organizers have also prepared merchandise and other memorabilia for the festival’s 50th anniversary. These items feature a Logo Design voted in by the public, and it will also appear on all promotional items.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, plans for the festival are not yet finalized. Traditionally, the festival takes place over two weekends, but organizers are temporarily planning for a single weekend event. Whether the festival will happen in-person or online is also undecided. Organizers are aiming for an in-person event that follows social distancing measures, but a hybrid event of in-person and virtual activities is also a possibility. More details will be given once the date of the event comes closer.
If the festival follows its current plans, it will take place on March 6 and 7. Anyone interested can book a whale watching appointment with the harbor. Each trip is two hours long, and tickets are $39 for children and $56 for adults. Admission for infants is free. Dana Point Harbor also hosts appointments regularly throughout the year for those who cannot attend.
