Dana Point venue to showcase guitarists

Lord of the String will be bringing several musical concerts to Dana Point Community House the spring and summer.

Providing a spotlight to musicians who play string instruments, Lord of the Strings was founded in 2002 by Tim Johnson.

On April 17 at 7:30 pm, Richard Smith will play the guitar. A fingerstyle player, he plays classical, jazz, blues, bluegrass and ragtime. He has won several awards for thumb picking and his fingerstyle techniques.

On May 1 at 7:30, Carl Verheyan, a session guitarist, will entertain with jazz, blues, pop, country, and rock. He has performed for over 25 years and played with names like the Bee Gees and Dolly Parton. His music has been recorded on soundtracks for movies and TV shows.

Black Market Trust will perform on May 15 at 7:30 pm. This group is a jazz band and from Los Angles, known for playing gypsy jazz. The five-piece’s music reflects well-known American and European musicians using adding different jazz styles.

On June 12 at 7:30 pm, Joe Robinson will play. The Australian guitarist takes on instrumental music, rock, blues, jazz, country and R&B music, and won The Australian National Song Writing Competition in 2008. Printers design and provide poster printing for events like this.

All shows will be held at the Dana Point Community House located at 24642 San Juan Avenue. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
