This fall, Dana Point is holding a Halloween Spooktacular Movie Night to celebrate the spooky season.
Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is the movie selected for the event, and two screenings will be shown. Besides the movie, organizers plan to offer meals at the Burger Monster Food Truck between 4:30pm and 9:30pm. Free popcorn and candy will be handed out to any children attending the event, and Dana Point’s sheriff himself will be handing out candy at 4:30pm.
For the movie, social distancing measures will be followed. Groups are limited to eight members maximum per household, and 10 feet will be maintained between each group. Organizers recommend that each group bring their own blankets and chairs to sit on. Before admittance, each participant is required to undergo a non-contact temperature check, and they must also wear face masks, except when seated with their group.
Organizers are also encouraging participants to decorate their porches to help promote the event. Print shops are often utilized for these types of materials.
Registration starts on October 2nd, and only one person per household is required to attend. The event will take place on October 24th, and the first screening starts at 6:30pm, with admittance starting at 5:45pm. The second screening starts at 8:30pm, with admittance at 8:00pm. The event will take place at the Del Obispo Park Ball Field.
