While many may be familiar with common varieties of garden begonias, an upcoming Dana Point area show and sale will demonstrate how there is a lot more to discover about this group of cultivated plants.
Sherman Library and Gardens is set to serve as the venue for the annual Southern California Begonia Society’s pop-up market, and it will be open for two days. It will be a rare opportunity for the public to both learn about the plants and add some to their own collection, and entry is free with admission to the venue.
The activity will feature many cultivars of begonias that are not normally on offer, and there will be subject matter experts on hand to answer questions, offer tips and just share their love of the various species. A demonstration on growing them in a terrarium, a “Begonia Basics” lecture, and Q&A session are all in the works as well.
A pop-up plant sale may attract quite a crowd, and many of the shoppers will want to know how to care for their purchases. Care tip sheets and other materials for a horticultural event can be crafted by a brochure printing company.
This chance for begonia fans to score some new plants and knowledge will be on offer on September 16 and 17. Both days will run from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.
