Dana Point Festival of Whales coming in late winter

Bringing about 50,000 visitors to the area, the Dana Point Festival of Whales takes place this March.

This festival has a parade, whale watching cruises, arts and crafts, sand sculpting, kids’ activities, food, environmental activities, and concerts.

It is located along Dana Point Harbor. Dana Wharf Whale Watching cruises will be every hour. Each cruise is two hours for children, adults, and seniors.

The Ocean Institute will have a Marine Life Exploration Cruise that is 2.5 hours. They will collect samples of mud and organism from sea floor and look whales, dolphins and other creatures. Captain Dave will offer 2.5-hour whale watching and dolphin cruises too.

There will be a Festival of Whales Parade with an ocean whale theme with floats and costumes. The Street Fair will have food trucks, kiddie area, music, merchandise, prizes, and entertainment. The Ocean Institute will have a program on the migration of whales with hands-on activities.

Sailing rides and lesson will be offered at OC Sailing and Event Center. At Art in the Park, artists and craftsman will display art and crafts. Baby Beach will have a pizza party, barbecue, and sand sculpting. Dana Point has printers that design promotional product for events like this.

The Dana Point Festival of Whales will be held on March 7, 8, 14, and 15 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. It is located along the Dana Point Harbor.

A free shuttle is available at Doheny State Beach and paid parking available at various locations.
