December may be a busy time for many, but Dana Point birders are reminded to save some space for an outing that will head out from a local nature center.
Volunteer naturalists from the Laguna Canyon Foundation will be the guides for the walk, which will cover a distance of two miles. The ground may be somewhat uneven, and it's intended for those age 12 and up.
The group will meet up at the Nix Nature Center, and from there it will hike to Barbara’s Lake, looking for birds along the way. On the return trip, the participants will view one of the country's most diverse communities of plants, and both binoculars and sturdy hiking shoes are highly recommended. Those who are interested are asked to register in advance, and there will be onsite parking available for $3.00 per vehicle.
Birding is a hobby enjoyed by many people, and there are options available in their field so that kids seniors and disabled people can all join in. Promotional Pens and other small items may be prepared to give to each participant in an activity by local printers.
December 16th has been set as the date for a newbie friendly visit to a Dna Point birding area. The group will depart for the meet up point at 8:00 am, and the Laguna Canyon Foundation website offers a registration link.
