Camino Real Playhouse offers diverse late winter lineup

The Camino Real Playhouse has comedy, melodrama, and drama on the way during the first quarter of 2020. The theater serves Dana Point and the surrounding towns and cities.

On January 11, a Night of Comedy with Fritz Coleman and Friends will be held at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Coleman has performed at the Improv, Ice House, Tonight Show, and was a weatherman on NBC4 News.

The Show Off International Playwriting Festival will be held on January 10 to January 19 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 8:00 pm, with matinees on Sundays at 2:00 pm. This program has seven ten-minute plays from US and other countries. Participants get to vote on their favorite play, with a runner-up read during each show.

Showdown at the Rainbow Ranch premiers on February 7 to February 23. It will be shown Friday, and Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. This melodrama is about the Old West and has murder, romance, villains, and music.

The Red Velvet Cake War will be shown from February 28 to March 15. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm. This play is about three cousins attempt to throw a family reunion and a bet is made on who can make the best red velvet cake. Printers design poster for special events like this.
