Boat rides and a parade of lights in the Dana Point Harbor

Boat rides with Santa will take place on board the Dana Pride from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm today, December 2, having also run at the same times yesterday.

This 20-minute ride will allow plenty of time for kids to explain their wishes to Santa. Parents and guardians should bring their cameras for pictures. A donation of $3 to the El Camino Real Junior Woman’s Club is all that is needed for admission. The boat will load at the Dana Wharf Sportfishing docks, 34675 Golden Lantern. For more information, call (949) 496-5794 or (949) 923-2255.

Continuing the boating theme, and with its proximity to the ocean, Dana Point is the perfect place to have a parade of decorated boats. The annual Boat Parade of Lights will be held at 7:30 pm on December 7 and 8 and again on December 14 and 15. Boats will be illuminated with thousands of twinkling Christmas lights to entertain the crowds.

The parade will be viewable from the harbor, 34555 Golden Lantern, and also from the comfort of ocean side restaurants. Reservations can also be made to view the parade from one of the participating boats. The numbers to call for more info are (949) 496-5794 or (949) 923-2255.

Back on land, the traditional winter festival will feature family fun from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 8 at La Plaza Park on Pacific Coast Highway. Activities include a holiday craft fair, cookie decorating, carnival games, a petting zoo, and a holiday movie. With real show and Santa’s reindeer, there is plenty to list on any promotional poster printing.
