Burbank workshop to build new crop of composters

A Burbank workshop will help locals to put their feet on the path to sustainability, and potentially have a beautiful garden as well.

The Burbank Composts initiative is intended to get the whole community composting, and a workshop can teach members of the public how to get stared. It’s free to attend, and those who plan on taking part are encouraged to come armed with whatever questions they might have.

During the session, the group will learn how to set up a composter, what to put in it, how to keep vermin out, and also how to make use of the contents once they are ready for the garden. To thank each participant for their interest, each will go home with a voucher for a free compost maker for their own yard. Stickers that explain what can and can’t go in compost can be distributed to each participant in those sort of class, and if they affix these to the side of their new composting device, it will make using it a lot easier. They can be obtained from an area printing services company.

This chance for Burbank residents to discover the benefits that go along with backyard composting will be offered on August 26. It will be held in the Burbank Recycle Center, and will start at 6:00 pm.
