An initiative designed to help keep Burbank sustainable is set to kick off in January, and the public has been asked to get involved.
The city has scheduled the date for the first class in its Waste Warrior program. It is being offered thanks to the work of the Burbank Recycle Center, and the learning will be led by Amy Hammes.
The series of free winter sessions will offer the inside scoop on how the area’s disposal system functions, and everyone will be encouraged to change the way they view waste and how it is treated. There will be both discussion and hands-on learning in the mix, and guest lecturers and tours are in the works. Attendees can take advantage of the opportunity to get to know one another. Advance registration is mandatory, and spots were still available at the time of writing.
Educating the public can be the first step in creating informed stakeholders. Learning materials for a workshop series or other educational activity can be prepared by Stationery printers.
This opportunity for Burbank residents to become environmental champions will begin on Saturday, January 11, and there are dates scheduled throughout February and March. A bonus activity has been planned for Wednesday, March 19. More details about locations, dates, and other information can be found on its web listing.
