Burbank explores watershed wise gardening

When people think of a front yard, a manicured lawn may spring to mind, but a Burbank workshop will show there are lots of alternatives to turf that are environmentally friendly.

A free class has been scheduled by Burbank Water and Power, and it will be all about transforming a home landscape on budget. It may be of interest to the thrifty homeowner as well as those who care about sustainability, and there will be several topics discussed.

Attendees will learn how to construct a watershed wise garden, and the key elements of doing so will be shared. They will find out which tasks to prioritize, and the costs and benefits of doing the job themselves or hiring a professional will be reviewed. The creative use of landscape design elements is on the agenda, and while no fee is being charged, the organizers require advance registration. The doors will open a few minutes ahead of its start time so the registrants can find their seats.

While some may find landscaping to be a chore, others enjoy the hobby and appreciate the opportunity to add to their knowledge base. A workshop gives them the chance to do so, and a brochure printing company can prepare Copies of handouts to distribute.

This in-person learning session will be on offer on March 20th. The venue is located at 150 N Third St. Burbank.
