Container gardening is an option that offers many advantages, and thanks to an upcoming Burbank area workshop, local green thumbs will soon be adding native species to their personal plantings.
Native plants offer many perks, and these will be the focus of a class organized by the Theodore Payne Foundation. The session will introduce the gardening public to the reasons why these species are important to local pollinators, as well as their other benefits.
The workshop will teach the attendees how to choose native plants that are right for their particular location, knowledge level and amount of time they have to spend on their care. A slide show and walk are both on the agenda, and the participants will need to come dressed appropriately for this. The function will be facilitated by subject matter expert Flora Ito, and Covid prevention practices will be followed for the safety of the learners and facilitators alike.
A function like this helps to add an extra touch of beauty to a community, and it can also do a good turn for area wildlife. Tip sheets, plant care guides, and other materials for a horticultural workshop may be ordered from an area printing services company.
This chance to discover the joys of container planting using native species and cultivars will take place on September 17. The venue for the activity will be located at 10459 Tuxford St in Sun Valley.
