Burbank foodies and nature lovers alike have been invited to join the fun of an activity that will harvest a wild bounty.
The Eat the Weeds foraging walk will take aim at invasive plants by harvesting them for food, and it will serve as a fundraiser for Plant Community LA. Spots in the activity can be reserved for $20.
In what is billed as an easy hike, the facilitator of the activity will teach participants how to identify both native and non-native edible plants. The session will take place in Elysian Park, where guests will be taught how to pick, store, and prepare the edible plants they find.
Jason Wise, who is a certified California Naturalist, will be the guide for the occasion. At the end of the walk, the group will be treated to a “wild salad.”
A plant walk or other nature-based activity can give the local public a chance to discover the wild world around them. A poster printing company can prepare an assortment of marketing materials to suit the organizer’s budget, helping them choose the ones best suited to them.
This introduction to the wild bounty that can be found in the Burbank area will take place on Sunday, April 14. It will depart from 1025 Elysian Park Drive in LA at 2:00 pm.
