Brea gardeners offered tips on minimizing water

Savvy Brea gardeners know that many benefits go hand in hand with choosing plants that are “water wise,” and an activity planned for the area will give them additional knowledge.

A free workshop will introduce plants that are adapted to the challenging growing conditions found in many parts of California, and it is one of a series that will explore the wide variety of options for xeriscaping (gardening with minimal water). It is being presented thanks to support from Anaheim Public Utilities, and both English and Spanish options are on offer.

During the two-hour long class, the participants will learn about water-wise plants and landscaping methods that can be used by just about anyone. The facilitator will discuss how they can also be real money savers, reducing overall maintenance effort and cost. The methods shared will be sustainable, and those who choose to implement them should end up with a garden that is both attractive and beneficial to the environment.

To thank everyone for coming out, attendees will go home with free Corporate Gifts. Both the English and Spanish sessions will be on offer at the West Anaheim Youth Center.

This opportunity to learn more about xeriscaping is scheduled for dates in mid-May. The English session will be held on May 18th, while the Spanish option is scheduled for May 19th. Both will begin at 6:00 pm.
