Brea residents who have always wanted to try their hand at sewing but were unsure how to get started may want to reserve their seat now for a local workshop.
A crafting session planned for the community will be teaching some of the basics of working with a needle and thread. The attendees will each be making their own bowl cozy, and the project will offer a way for them to practice the fundamentals. The cozies can make it easier to hold a hot or cold bowl.
The class will run for two and half hours. A list of materials needed has been prepared, and the registrants can choose any fabric pattern that they wish, but it has been advised that they contrast. Many of the items will be available for purchase at the venue where the class will be held, and the workshop registration fee is $20.
Sewing is a hobby that can be both fun and practical, and a class gives newbies a chance to get their feet wet in a supportive environment. Printed supply lists, instruction sheets, and other materials that may be useful to an event planner will be on offer at local Print shops.
This gentle introduction to the art of working with a needle and thread will be held on August 10. It will begin at 1:30 pm sharp, and those who would like to register have been asked to call (714) 279-6830.
