Staff at Gilbert High School here in Anaheim recently received a pick-me-up, thanks to a gift from the California Casualty Insurance company.
They chose Brady Michel, a teacher at the school, to be the winner of the School Lounge Makeover Award and the employees are now enjoying their redecorated and redesigned teachers’ lounge.
Twice a year, The School Lounge Makeover is presented to show appreciation for the work that educators do. The first recipient school this year, Gilbert, had its grand unveiling May 30, and the next winner will be announced October 3. Winners are drawn at random, and Michel’s name was one of 25,000 entries received.
The newly remodeled lounge has modern lounge chairs, live plants, new appliances, and an inviting open feel enhanced by alternating colors. Among the appliances provided in the $7,500 makeover were two microwaves and a single-cup coffee maker.
