In the near future, Disneyland will be integrating a high-tech computer algorithm called Genie to help visitors to the park more effectively manage their visit.
The mobile app will at Walt Disney World’s Florida theme parks tomorrow (October 19) and the launch date for Disney’s original park in Anaheim is expected to be announced soon after. The app’s goal is to sort through all the decisions about what ride to line up for next, when and where to eat, and how best to get from one part of the park to the other. It could be seen as a traffic director for visitors individually and the park as a whole.
Entertainment venues like Disneyland frequently collaborate with banner printing services to maximize their profits.
Visitors will download the three-part app when they arrive at the park. Part 1 is a complimentary itinerary planner, while part 2, called Disney Genie+, costs $20 to use and replaces the park’s FastPass and MaxPass’s line-cutting perks. Part 3, Lightning Lane, charges between $7 and $15 to leapfrog to the front for the most popular rides.
Visitors tell the Genie their six favorite ride selections and any dinner reservations they have made. The Genie then sets up an itinerary including their must-do rides, any rides it thinks they might also enjoy based on information they have given it. It calculates the optimum walking and waiting times using numerous data points.
