Disney Resorts in Anaheim will be serving more vegetarian food items in it restaurants this coming spring.
These new food items will be free of meat, honey, eggs, and dairy, in keeping with the company’s work to offer more plant-based foods to customer.
These new food items have been in the planning stages for several month. Disney will be adding several new salads to the menu, with meatless hotdogs, burgers, and sausages also coming.
New menu items will be an eggless Florentine at Magic Kingdom, a meatless sausage sandwich at Animal Kingdom, and a jackfruit dip with maple chipotle flavor at Wilderness Lodge. A leaf symbol will be used to identify for all plant-based foods.
The Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Restaurant in Anaheim has a vegetarian dish consisting of potatoes and soybeans made into meatloaf, then served with hummus and relish. A similar item is found at Galaxy Edge and is served with roasted vegetables and mushroom sauce.
These new items are called plant-based to avoid the confusion on what makes a meal vegetarian. Anaheim has Print shops that design and provide banner printing for promotions like this.
Other new items will be cashew cheesecake, steamed dumpling, and noodle salad with chili sauce, carrot gnocchi, and garden spread. These new food options are made at Disney due to consumer demand for healthier food.
