Now that Thanksgiving has passed, many people have begun to plan for Christmas, and the people of Pickering have two special festive events to look forward to.
The official tree lighting and fireworks ceremony will have plenty of activities to offer to the area’s families. There is expected to be live entertainment, a charity barbecue, hay and train rides, crafts, and hot chocolate for sale. Santa Claus will also be there.
The evening will end with a fireworks display. Entry to the event is free but guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items that will later be donated to the St. Paul's on the Hill Food Bank.
Later on in the month, the third annual Durham Region Crafters Community Winter Marketplace is taking place in nearby Ajax. There will be more than 50 vendors who will be selling a variety of handmade and unique merchandise, including baked goods, candles, jewelry, and greeting cards.
When organizers are planning events like this in the Pickering area, they often work with local printing companies to design advertising items like Flyers, Banners and Posters.
The Tree Lighting and Fireworks event is taking place at City Hall and Esplanade Park on December 6 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. Contact Krystal Ferguson at 905-420-4620 x3604 for more information.
