One of Pickering’s biggest musical events will be back for more this June as the Pickering Village JAM Festival returns with a brand new line-up.
The festival began life as a Jazz Festival before switching over to the “JAM” moniker in 2011 to reflect the diversity of musical genres represented. This year’s three days of shows reflect that, including groups such as Caribbean-inspired band Moka, “Canadian Southern Rock” outfit Back Alley Prophet, the Snooky Tynes Soul Express Band, and veteran rock group the Philcos. There will also be a performance by the students of the Ajax Guitar Academy and Music4Life. There will be multiple venues and stages for music throughout downtown Pickering, and audiences are encouraged to sing and dance along.
The Festival, also known as JAMFest, encourages people to stroll through downtown Pickering and enjoy local restaurants and stores while listening to music. There will also be food trucks and vendor trucks set up specifically for the festival, and works created by local artists for decoration and sale. Local businesses and artisans sometimes provide special deals and Promotional Products at festivals like this to make the most out of the exposure to new customers. Admission to the festival is free for all.
The 2024 Pickering Village JAM Festival will take place from June 14 to 16 throughout downtown Pickering.
