Celebrate New Year in PickeringThe city of Pickering will be the location of two events to kick off the New Year.
The first event is the New Year's Eve Family Countdown at the Pickering Recreation Complex; it gives children the opportunity to ring in the New Year. This is a free event and families will be able to skate and swim for two hours. Later there will be a countdown and balloon drop to welcome in 2016.
The next day, Mayor Dave Ryan and the City Council will be hosting the Mayor's New Year's Day Levee. This is also a free event. Guests will enjoy refreshments, take part in a craft activity and have the chance to win prizes such as a heart rate and activity wristband. Music will be provided during the event by the Liverpool 4, a Beatles tribute band. Everyone will have the opportunity to meet the mayor and council.
