The Oshawa Generals hockey team is hosting the Pucks 4 Heart game this February. A portion of the proceeds from it will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The team will be taking on the Ottawa 67s. The puck will be dropped by former player Brett MacLean to start the game. Audience members will be able to compete in the "chuck a puck" contest to win a $500 gift card for the Oshawa Centre. The jerseys worn by the players will also be auctioned off after the game.
A special "heart pack" is available for purchase by sponsors. It costs $310, which includes 20 tickets and recognition on the team website and at the game, $50 of which goes to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
No doubt the game will attract hockey fans from all over the Oshawa area, including nearby Pickering. It is very likely the event will be advertised extensively. Local printing companies are often asked to provide items such as Posters, Signs and Flyers to help spread the word in the community.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation helps to fund research into heart disease and, over 60 years, has raised over $1.35bn, during which time the death rate from heart attack or stroke has declined significantly.
Pucks 4 Heart will take place at the General Motors Centre on February 14 from 7:35 pm - 10:00 pm. Tickets are $17.50 in advance or $20 at the door. To find out more about the event contact Susan Edwards at 905-666-3777.
