A competitive event is running in Pakenham this year that will see skilful participants solve physical puzzles against the clock.
Those in the area who enjoy solving puzzles like the famous Rubik’s Cube can put their skills to the test soon. An event called Puzzling Pakenham is being held in the suburb this spring, and competitors will have the chance to enter one of two events.
Co-organised by Swami Srinivasan and Speedcubing Australia, the official competition will be overseen by the World Cube Association (WCA). Organisers of contests like this sometimes include their registered Logo Design on promotional Posters, signage and other display points at events.
Extremely popular, the upcoming series commonly draws as many as 120 competitors on each day. Those entering must work at speed to solve mechanical puzzles that twist while working within a time limit. There are many different speed cube categories to choose from, including one-hand solving and cubes of different dimensions like the 2x2x2 cube and 3x3x3 cube.
The Puzzling Pakenham competition will now take place on Saturday, 26 and Sunday, 27 September at Pakenham Library Hall. The venue is easy to find at 6E Henry Street in Pakenham.
