Focus on training sector as VTA nominations open
Training providers, employers, teachers, students and apprentices in Springvale and throughout Victoria are now being asked to nominate for the 65th Victorian Training Awards (VTA).
The awards are held each year to honour and recognise outstanding achievements by organisations and individuals within the state’s TAFE and training sector. Minister for Training and Skills and Higher Education, Gayle Tierney launched this year’s awards, which will also include a People’s Choice Award.
According to the Victorian Education website:
“The VTAs have grown from ‘Apprenticeship Week’ in the 1950s to a premier event on the vocational education and training calendar.”
It also stated:
“To mark this special anniversary year, the 2019 Awards will be bigger and better than ever, featuring a larger prize pool, enhanced sponsorship offerings, and the opportunity for students to submit a short mobile phone video as part of their nomination.”
Nominees will be vying for top recognition in 16 categories including the Lynne Kosky Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement, an Industry Collaboration Award, four training organisation awards, four for employers and six awards for individuals.
Winners, who will receive $5,000 in prize money, will be revealed in September at a special gala ceremony to be held in Melbourne. Events such as this will often use banner printing services as part of their promotional campaigns.
Full details on the awards can be found on the website and nominations must be received by midnight on May 3.
