A Braeside skate park is set to host a national competition later this month, as the Australian Pro Scooter Championship comes to the city of Kingston.
The Bunker Skate Park is an indoor venue usually used by local skaters and scooter enthusiasts, but for one day at the end of June, the centre will be home to some of the best in the business.
The pro riders will be challenging for a place at the International Scooter Association World Championships being held in England later this year. The top 10 riders will be selected for the Australian team.
The venue is well set up to hold such an important competition with rails, ramps and half-pipes for the riders to show off their tricks.
Riders will also compete for the title of Australian Champion, currently held by Jesse Bayes. During the event, the finals of a series of competitions for young riders will also be held, with categories for under 10s, under 13s, and under 16s.
Spectators are welcome and keen scooter fans might like to think about using banner printing to support their favourite rider. Anyone inspired to improve their skills, or even try out scooter riding for the first time, can test their nerve at The Bunker after the competition, with courses for every skill level.
The Championships take place on Sunday, June 29th and start at 9am.
