The Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne will house hundreds of cars and motorcycles polished with loving care this weekend, as it hosts the RACV Motorclassica show.
The show, now in its third year, offers three days of events for everyone from serious car enthusiasts to those just beginning their interest in classic motoring.
There will be a number of trade stands catering for car owners and the general public, as well as several talks about maintaining classic cars. An art show will feature drawings and paintings from automotive artists and a vintage fashion fair will showcase vintage clothes, furniture, homewares, and accessories, providing a change of scene from the vehicles. Australian Formula One driver Sir Jack Brabham and racing car designer Ron Tauranac will be guests at this year’s show.
More than 100 cars and 50 motorcycles are scheduled to take part in the Australian International Concours d’Elegance competition and there will be more than 400 cars from 1912 to 1975 on general display at the event, so automobile lovers from nearby Braeside will have plenty from which to choose.
A range of classic vehicles will also be available for sale at a special auction during the event. Catalogue printing could help potential buyers to get details of the vehicles, which include a Bugatti and an Aston Martin, before they bid.
