End of year networking opportunity for small business owners

As the year draws to a close, it can be a time for business professionals to reflect on what has happened during the year, and to plan for the next year.

To help small and medium businesses do just that, the SME Business Governance Symposium is being held next month. The event is organised by National Australia Bank, Women on Boards and Women Chiefs of Enterprise International

Covering key issues for small and medium size businesses, the symposium will focus on such matters as financial governance, gaining external investment, getting a business ready for sale or planning to pass the business to new managers, and advisory board setups.

There will be three speakers, all of whom are successful businesswomen. Fiona Shand is a lawyer with more than 25 years’ experience who has represented many high profile commercial clients. Laura Raymer is the director of Relationships Australia (New South Wales) and specialises in strategy development, corporate restructuring and financial management, while Rose Bryant-Smith is CEO of Worklogic - a risk management firm. She also sits on the boards of several Australian companies.

The symposium is an excellent opportunity for small and medium business owners from Braeside, not only to learn from experts in the field, but also to meet other business owners, learn from their experiences and build contacts. It is a good idea to make sure business card printing orders are up-to-date to make swapping details easy.
