Ever since the early 1990’s, WOMADelaide has brought together dance, arts, music, cultural ideas and food from around the world, to nurture a special sense of world community. In addition, the festival for the first time will be home to performance stages which will all run on renewable energy.
The audience can expect performances from Arrested Development, Italian pop icon Jovanotti and Grace Jones from the UK, as the headliner on Saturday evening. Over 600 hundred artists/groups will be representing nearly forty countries. A contributor to The Sydney Morning Herald writes:
“The sense of wonder, community and togetherness that WOMADelaide captures so well – an oasis of calm and contentment in a complicated world.”
Retail outlets, restaurants and pop-up food and drinks stalls will ensure that attendees are well-catered for whilst on site.
Colourful advertising for musical and cultural events is often sourced at local Print shops.
WOMADelaide is taking place from 6th until 9th March at the Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla. Ticket prices range from $180 for one day to $475 for a four-day pass, with concessions and cheaper prices (or free) for children.
