1. A gloss finish will give printed materials a glassy-like look that will enhance the colours and vibrancy.
2. Matte Finish will give your product a softened appearance that decreases glare. This makes printed materials easier to read.

Sealed Edge and Flush Edge.

There are two types of edge finishes you can choose from for your laminated pieces. You can significantly impact the final product's look, quality, and appearance.

Sealed edges are created when the lamination extends beyond a Print marketing piece's edge. This edge type is excellent for items like Menus, which may come in direct contact with food or liquids. It prevents dirt and fluids from touching any printed pieces. Flushed edges are more appealing and are often used when contaminants or fluids are not an issue.

Square or Rounded Edges.

More than personal preferences, the shape and form of your edges may be affected by other factors. Other than aesthetics, you might need to have rounded edges for many reasons.

• The thickness of your laminate. If your laminate thickness is too high, square edges may be dangerously sharp.

• The age of the user. Safety concerns are lower with rounded edges, so it is better to use rounded edges for children of all ages, regardless of their thickness.

• The final product. If the laminated product is intended as a signage item, leaving the edges rounded is okay, as the object will not be used regularly.
