Another advantage that book binding and finishing presents is convenience - documents are a lot easier to peruse and handle when they are bound. Certain binding methods will also ensure that your documents lie flat when opened.
Here are some of the most popular types of book binding and finishing methods:
- Ring binding: This is a great book binding and finishing method if the document might need to be edited after the presentation, i.e. pages from the document need to be removed or new pages need to be added. Pages from the document are punched and placed onto metal rings that are attached to the inner spine of a file. These metal rings easily snap open and closed to allow users to remove or add pages.
- Thermal binding: Thermal binding is another book binding and finishing method that should be considered. It is one of the few methods that do not require any holes to be punched in the pages of the document. This binding method works by heating and fusing plastic or cloth strips that are positioned along the side of the document.
- Comb, wire and spiral binding: All three of these binding methods require pages to be punched with a series of holes along the side. Wire binding is the sturdiest binding option out of the three, while the spiral binding can give your document a very fun and interesting look as you can use different coloured plastic or wire spirals.
